I spent over an hour pulling the waah assembly out of our dishwasher, intent on replacing whatever motor was going bad. Then I went to Reddit and found all I needed was to add some CLR (calcium, lime, and rust) cleaner for a few cycles. Pure genius! It worked!

Moral: go to Reddit first!
