1. Go to Preferences → Trends → Trending links.
2. Find a story by the New York Times, and check the box next to it.
3. Click the "Disallow publisher" button.
This will make it so that the #NewYorkTimes will never show up on your instance's "Explore → News" page. Good riddance!

PNAS accepts opinion submissions, which must be 1,500-2,000 words long. Some right-wingers submitted an opinion piece with over 10,000 words, and it was rejected.
