Having grown up around SF and recently lived in NYC, I can confirm the accuracy of this map.

Discussed this with wife, and we've determined that Alameda is Roosevelt Island.

It's somehow both extremely central and also impossible to get to so nobody goes there.

Oh God, and Santa Cruz (more specifically, Capitola) is Far Rockaway, isn't it?
@saramg Shame Richmond didn’t turn out in the Staten Island part.
@saramg I appreciate this because I have been wrongly comparing the peninsula to Jersey
@saramg Is NYC *supposed* to be three different dicks fucking Jersey and Connecticut, or is that just coincidence?
@mjfgates I'm glad I didn't have to point out that San Francisco is the tip.
@saramg I'm now wanting to reread (and maybe rewrite) THE CITY WE BECAME with this map
@saramg I'm actually looking at SFBA as a place to move to, and honestly, this helps.
@saramg I was born in Pennsylvania and today I learned that I have lived most of my life in "Pennsylvania".
@saramg maybe add Santa Cruz as “Straight Fire Island”?
@hampton I came close, it was my second choice, but I went with Rockaway.

@saramg not sure the Brooklyn part is accurate.
@saramg having grown up around New York, and lived in the Bay Area since 2007, I can also verify the accuracy of this map.
@saramg originally from NJ, have spent enough time in the Bay to provide secondary confirmation. Quite accurate.
@saramg TBF I don’t even feel SF is Manhattan. My wife says SF is just Queens.
@alexhung I mean sure, if you're being strict, NOTHING is like Manhattan. It's a unique place on Earth in good and bad ways. This map is not a literal thing. It's just a silly joke.
@saramg it’s interesting to note that there was an actual Brooklyn Township in East Oakland between about 1860 to 1950. #oakland #sanfrancisco
@saramg Having lived about ten years in each place... Yeah, that tracks.
