WOW. Booking an appointment to see my local nurse just for a regular injection, and they ask this on the booking form now. It was not there before.

What is the point of my having a #GRC then? The appointment doesn't involve the nurse needing to know anything other than "this person needs an injection"! If it were relevant I could understand it!

FUCK. FOR CHRIST'S SAKE LEAVE US ALONE! Is this even legal?

@kayeluvian I think it is so they can address you respectfully in the correct manner? If it's a clinic, it's unlikely they will be accessing your medical records and just info relevant to the appointment (name, dob, dose administered, drug type and clinician)

As a learning moment, what process would you prefer to use to help nurses refer to you in the way you want to be referred to? Big love to you and thank you for bringing this issue to light 🧡

@ink I spoke to the practice manager today. The reason is they want to gather analytics data on who uses their services - they didn't realise the question was breaking the GRA and are investigating.

In terms of address, they asked my title so they'd know to call me Ms. Eluvian.
The practice have my medical history, so if they need to know "biological gender" they can look it up.

The form was just to send a message to reception, so TBH no gender related questions are needed imo.

@kayeluvian I understand and I am glad your practice were helpful and considerate, it's really great to see 😊
@ink I was very impressed with the prompt call and we had a nice chat - I think they might have been expecting me to be angry or rude, whereas I'm always very nice. They're going to look into it and let me know, so I'm happy with that. They’re a good bunch. It's not even their fault AFAIK - it's the third party company that runs the booking/reception software online.
@kayeluvian I think it is a period of change and it can take time, but it's nice to see people making the effort you know? 🧡
