Write to the Prendergast Governing Body to Withdraw the MAT Proposal

On 3 May the Governing Body of the Prendergast Federation will vote on whether to turn the Prendergast Federation of Schools into a Multi-Academy Trust. The Federation chose this time of year for a six week consultation on a proposal they have been planning in secret for the last 18 months, knowing that teachers and parents would not want to disrupt pupils exams. Write to the Governing Body and Headteachers today to show them that parents, pupils, staff and the Lewisham community are united and ask them to withdraw the proposal.

As the parent of kids who were in a school that was declared inadequate by OFSTED and swallowed by a MAT I can tell you that there was huge trauma for the teachers, the parents and, the school. A ghastly superhead came in who had "the answers". After 4/5 years she left and the original deputy head replaced her. And guess what…? School is kind of ok. So what was all the chaos about? Local community lost control, and the promised extra cash never flowed. Zilch.
