PadreSJI just verified that if your Twitter account was Legacy Verified, adding "Former blue check" immediately restores your verified icon.
HOWEVER...
If you disparage Twitter Blue (or even "TB"), the icon is immediately removed once more.

AdmiralFrosty@PadreSJ Sometime in the mid 2000's, I ended up on a game server that was modded to give one player obscene godpowers. He'd pick you up in the air, change your model, wallhack, etc. He kept changing up the hacks so he wouldn't get bored, but everyone else sure did and they left him by himself.
