What is the longest you've ever waited to get through the first round of review at a journal? We are coming up on 6 months here and I am getting frustrated.
@RobynCaplan I've waited 18 months, which really sucks. Nothing wrong with pinging the editors. It's getting harder and harder to round up reviewers, and things can fall through the cracks. But editors know how important timely reviews are.
@RobynCaplan over a year, and it was resolved only when the students responsible for the delay graduated and were replaced by a new editorial staff
@RobynCaplan I once waited about 13 months, and still got no response. I sent a follow-up around month 6 asking for any updates and then after a the 1 year anniversary started looking for alternate journals - I ended up pulling it and submitting elsewhere. Thus beginning the waiting game once again...
@RobynCaplan I just received feedback for a paper I submitted last June 🤷‍♂️
