16 years passed between GTA1 and GTA5 release date. And since GTA5 released 10 years have now passed. Games are more complicated than ever to make, added resolution to assets, realism mechanics, online etc add a real time cost to all.

@djlink Honestly I wished AAA industry would get cues from some part of the indie scene and realize that not everything need to be an arms race to the biggest, largest, more complicated game ever. Going small, simple and tight sometimes is just the best thing you can do!

Just look at Vampires Survivors.... bet that one is going to get twisted to the end by someone in the AAA industry that wants to get in on it, but "bigger and better!"... ๐Ÿ˜‘

@elFlashor @djlink Thatโ€™s not the only reason i think. GTA V still sells and get some new content.

If you compare GTA V when it launched and now you would see a lot of big changes. A lot of work is now done after the initial release (game as a service).

@lord @djlink That is true, it is also a factor.

But there's something about current games (and entertainment in general) companies wanting to keep players/users forever engaged to their product, which in itself is another debate-sparking topic ๐Ÿ˜
