Super excited! My co-workers and I have just scheduled a meeting with #union organizers. We're a small shop, in a reddish US state that's "right to work," and we're owned by a big corporation based in Texas. Seems like we've got an uphill battle on our hands, but I'm beyond thrilled to be moving forward.
Sorry to be vague, this is the only social media I'm 90% sure my work doesn't see, but I still want to be cautious. I'll be sharing updates as to how it goes here.
Today is the day we're meeting with #union reps! There's a local in town, but the national folks are here to talk with us for two reasons:
1.) This union covers workers in many different industries & the local currently doesn't rep anyone in our field.
2.) The company already has contracts w/ this union at other locations. We'll be dealing with corporate & not local management to hash out a contract.

I know one been quite on here, BUT great news! We've added a second worksite and the #union has assigned us all a local! Next step is to plan for the vote, then file with the National Labor Relations Board, and... finally... its public, I can talk with everyone about where I work and with which union we're organizing.
We'll probably have the vote before Thanksgiving and a contract by next summer!!! I am too excited!!!

WE'RE DOING IT!!! Our #union organizers are going to the National Labor Relations Board this coming week! We'll have a vote before the summer starts and might get a contract by year's end!!! Now begins the hard part, keeping it together as corporate fights us tooth and nail, we've been able to keep all this under wraps, but once we file with the #NLRB the cat will be out of the bag. It's exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time!
WE'RE FILING WITH THE #NLRB ON TUESDAY!
It'll be about fifteen to thirty days before we have a vote... we've got a majority of folks in the department ready to vote "Yes." TOO EXCITED!!!

So hyped! We've got a #Union vote on June 8th! Pretty sure we've got the numbers, so now it's just waiting game!

Not to worry though! Under US Labor laws we have to wait one calendar year to try again. And you better believe we're going to try again! My mission is now and will always be to get my coworkers and I all the protections & wages we deserve! Managment and corporate better buckle up, because I plan to do this every single year until it either goes through, I get fired, I retire, or I die.
