When I was growing up, my best friend and I would hang out and host pretend NPR broadcasts. (On our version of Morning Edition, she was Linda Wertheimer, and I was Robert Siegel.)

The chance to be in an episode of This American Life is beyond anything I could have imagined for myself as a kid.

Grateful to @caseynewton for helping me tell this love story for trust and safety. To my friends and colleagues in internet sanitation: I hope Iโ€™ve done you proud.

@yoyoel @caseynewton Congratulations on the story! Also, fun fact about Wertheimer & Siegel: I used to do a bit about the opening of the Wertheimer/Siegel ATC. The key to the impression is that their voices are exactly the same. You just have to lower your voice fractionally in the transition from Wertheimer to Siegel. Try it now; I'll wait.
