So the WHO is finally saying it out loud:

One in ten covid infections will need long term care.

As a #DnD player, I can tell you this is way more likely than it seems at first.

If infected with covid, and you roll 1 on a 1d10:
Gain a permanent level of exhaustion.

So wear a mask.
Get a decent modifier on your Constitution saving throw against infection.

#CovidIsNotOver

Do your best to avoid rolling that 1d10.

If you roll it enough, you'll be guaranteed to get a 1.

No one wants that.

@pezmico yes, this! All the rpg players I know have been able to 😷 and 💉 properly because they understand this!

"Studies show that around 10–20% of people infected by SARS-CoV-2 may go on to develop symptoms that can be diagnosed as long COVID. "
Post COVID-19 condition (Long COVID)

@pezmico Those are technically "good odds" if they just happen once, and has limited impact. However, it's not just COVID by itself.

1d10 for measles. 1d10 for mumps. 1d10 for polio. 1d10 for shingles. 1d10 for breakthrough variants. Finally, 1d1 for rabies.

All those rolls will be the end result of #AntiVax and #AntiMask groups.

@arem @pezmico
For covid, that's 1d10 per infection, not just once
@pezmico
This is a low-ball estimate. It was 80% disability at ten years for SARS-CoV-2, with half of those unable to care for themselves. There's no reason to expect SARS-CoV-2 to be any different.
