@MaddieM4 I'm very happy with zeroes.ca — it's based in Canada but happily accepts non-Canadian users. It has the most generous post length limit of any instance I'm aware of: 5000 characters. The only problem might be if any of your partners and friends were #antivax; the name "zeroes.ca" is a reference to #ZeroCOVID, and the instance bans antivax advocacy, #COVID19 denialism, etc.
