I prepared for the visit by reading all the lowest review on TripAdvisor, and was surprised to see what people would get riled up about. Some people thought it was disrespectful and that the exhibition should be buried, some were unhappy that it wasn't REAL enough (they're using a method called plastination to preserve the bodies, which some misinterpreted as all-plastic) and.. Aaron Mahler@saustrup I saw what I assume is the same exhibit in Las Vegas some years ago (in the Luxor alongside a Titanic exhibit). I found it fascinating and took my time really exploring. Nothing I have seen before or since presented anatomy so vividly. It was afterward that I read that a key controversy was how some of the bodies were possibly obtained without consent (per various local laws) in various situations. Some cases appear likely true and others have been heavily disputed.
@halfpress IMHO it's such an awesomely noble and amazing project and it would be incredible stupid of them if they didn't go head over heals to document and ensure the legitimacy of the whole process. The sourcing process is after all very delicate in this line of work.
