One of the things I’ve always been most intrigued/impressed by as we’ve traveled around #Europe over the years in #TheVan is that no matter what conflicts have occurred we all have pretty much the same road signs. My favourite being that the zebra crossing appeared for the 1st time in 1951 in England, Slough. And yet it is now used everywhere, and not just in Europe but around the whole world. Human beings can be truly remarkable when they pull together. #RoadTrip
@CatherineRussell2 I never ever thought that the rallying cry for the human race would be “we share a common pedestrian crossing”…
@CatherineRussell2 It's interesting how many things we share with the rest of the world. Two I can think of is stamps and cash. The slough zebra crossing is no longer there unfortunately, a little piece of history lost but not forgotten.
@CatherineRussell2
Oh, for a moment I thought you were talking about a crossing meant for an actual zebra. 🦓
Haha. We just call them crosswalks. (Jill Klein would know that. 😀) I caught a small glimpse of you. Can't watch it fully till we get back home but you looked great.
Netflix's "The Diplomat".

@CatherineRussell2 Come friendly bombs, and fall on Slough, but miss the Zebra crossing!
@CatherineRussell2 I really like this quote: Human beings can be truly remarkable when they pull together.
Greetings from Southamerica, dear Catherine 🤗🙋🏻‍♀️
@CatherineRussell2 go and visit Pompeji on your way back. The zebra crossings are made of stones. No ancient signs though
@CatherineRussell2 hope you are enjoying your time away?? Looks like you are. I remember my driving test realising all the different road signs and also seeing them in pictures all over the world. Incredible. Both of you stay safe and enjoy.
