I said "Forty years ago in the 80s" and instantly lost a little bit of cartilage in my knee.
@Skepticat
40 years ago, when I was a punk rocker.... AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH *Shakes cane at cloud*
@Okanogen πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I hear you, classic rocker.
I'm 63 and simply refuse to believe it.
@Skepticat
I'm just one year younger. But on the plus side, my kid loves our music, so skipping those between generations worked out ok.
@Okanogen they really don't make music anymore. Everything is generated.
@Skepticat
Oh! I don't agree at all! I love a lot of new music! Weyes Blood, Big Thief, The Mars Volta, Kruanghbin, Foxygen, Angel Olson, Beach House.....
@Okanogen
I'm going to have to check it out! Can't wait. I'm ready for something new. Thanks. I'll get back to you for more... hopefully!
@Okanogen we have many generations in common. Music isn't the same imo. It's all a repetitive beat, no real instrumentals. Remember the orchestra sound of bands like Kansas? Or piano sounds of Bruce Hornsby?

@Skepticat @Okanogen

Have you tried modern Ukrainian music?

There's a couple of good playlists on ITunes. I'm a big classic rock fan myself coming from Austin '70s/'80's and I've found these new Ukrainian tunes have a lot of complexity and creativity - and some of that 'big' sound feel - something I haven't seen for a while. Of course, it's like listening to the opera because I don't understand Ukrainian. But I've really been enjoying it on some of the long rides we take.

@Gleng2 @Okanogen
No, I haven't. I'll have to listen in. Thanks for sharing! 😁
