There’s a shocking parallel between today’s Republican anti-abortion movement and the witch hunts of the 17th century. It has to do with both economics and political competition and is all about men achieving power on the backs of women.

@ThomHartmann
"In the late 1500s and early 1600s, women who performed abortions or provided birth control were most of the early victims of witch hunts because children were a source of cheap labor for the feudal lords, who essentially owned their serfs and their children."
I often say the same dynamics are at play today as the billionaires and their purchased legislators & judges know that keeping a constant flow of ignorant serfs is critical to their power. Abortion stands in their way.
