Jay UlfelderI don't know if the increasingly open calls from right-wing influencers for violence against trans people and their allies are heartfelt or cynical ploys to draw attention, but as someone who's studied ethnic conflict and mass atrocities, I know that it doesn't matter; dangerous speech has the same effect either way.

As someone said to me the other day, the road to fascism is paved with people saying "You're exaggerating."
I can't even imagine what you and the rest of my trans friends are feeling. I know how deep my rage is, but also know that any multiplier I come up with won't touch what you're going through.

As haters & fascists gain footholds, they will focus on a growing list of targets because their fuel is only HATE!

So I believe you and hear you. They're desperate to maintain control and don't mind who they throw under the bus to ensure they do.

Exaggeration is often said quickly.
That's what I often hear, but never mind, I'll just carry on as I see fit.
It's funny how much intolerance there is, no matter in which direction and age.
Do not give up I always say to myself.
