I found a Heathkit kit radio at the thrift store today. It's got tubes. They want $26 though so I'm not buying it
A US army record player
Huh. This is a very old kit that someone never assembled. All the insides are missing
What was up with prog rock anyway? Why was it always being so odd?
Jeans-brand jeans
I don't know if this is old or pretending to be old
$30 for a used Zara wrap dress? Thrift store prices are out of control
@MLE_online I saw that bronco, in turquoise, on my way to boulder last week, and it too was faded and kinda beat up.
@MLE_online Text is usually what gives it away… appears to be hand-drawn, but still awfully symmetric.
@MLE_online Apparently it's slightly old. American Eagle, but not sold anymore. It was a tagless tee so if the writing is gone I'm guessing its ~10 years. I see them for sale in various used clothing sites. Why did I dive down this rabbit hole? No idea.
@MLE_online The Original Jeans Jeans—accept no substitute.
@MLE_online made of 100% polyester Jeen* material. *contains no jeans.

@MLE_online prog-rock was originally an outgrowth of the late-'60s British psychedelic scene, so first-wave prog maintained a lot of the surreal imagery - and also a lot of the radical politics - of late-'60s counterculture.

sadly, most of the first-wave artists either disappeared up their own asses or ventured into pop (thank goddess for Roger Waters remaining One of the Good Ones), and second-wave and beyond prog artists never really recaptured that sort of attitude.

@MLE_online that was an amazing album besides the crazy artwork.
@MLE_online
lysergic acid diethylamide does that to you 😂
