Kudos to the UC Davis Bee Haven garden for being one of the few places at UC Davis that has made an effort to make public furniture accessible.

However, we post this photo to illustrate that you can have more accessible furniture yet site it in a way that takes the accessibility away. The table was locked to a pole, which is now blocking wheelchair egress to the one part of the table that is accessible. #UCAccessNow #accessibility

@danhicks We want to call them in rather than out because someone at this garden put thought into accessible public furniture and that is better than 99% of UC Davis.

It takes developing awareness of what the lives of disabled people are like, developing awareness of accessibility as a design goal instead of mere compliance or a checklist.
