Today, I am remembering Tim Field, my mentor and fellow alumnus of North Staffs, who should have been 71 today. I worked at #Culham Labs from 1987-8 for my degree’s industrial placement, with Tim as my boss.
He was one of the most energetic people I have ever met. He was also thoughtful, positive and unfailingly kind. In my year at Culham, I had the opportunity to use the fastest computers in the country (two Crays at Harwell) as well as computers in Australia, before the Web existed.
