We spent yesterday operating an #amateurradio Special Event Station - GB0MCN - from Fort Burgoyne near Dover, UK to celebrate International #Marconi Day. On air for three hours and had 77 contacts from 9 different countries. As it was #earthday2023 our radio was powered by a #battery which we’d charged using #solar and #wind only. Great fun was had. @m7mle For those interested in the connection to Marconi, the British Post Office had a bust-up with Marconi, who wanted to commercialise his intellectual property. They bought some of his equipment but were unable to get good performance from it. Marconi came to the rescue and solved the issue.
