@Benjaminblackoak @dkxkee @flexghost This is a major irony, to me. If you say, "Oh God!" to a Southern protestant Christian, they will tell you not to take the Lord's name in vain. But then they'll turn around and say things like, "God is on our side." They really think that God favors them in particular, and that they are God's people, while everyone else needs to be stomped on for being evil or not God-fearing enough.

Someone needs to explain to them what "vain" actually means.

Whether you believe in God or not, the concept......A supreme being needs a middleman, an arbitrator. @flexghost I’ve seen rightwingers try to justify a pardon for this murderer because he didn’t get a fair trial. But even if that was true: That’s what the appeals process is for.

This just shows how they see everything: People should be judged based on who they are, not what they did; and investigations and trials are just needless red tape.

So “Good” people should be immediately forgiven and “Bad” people should be punished immediately and forever.
