How many more examples of blatant greed do we need to hear about before we finally address the corporate price gouging that's driving inflation?

I still want to know the effect of stock buybacks on market cap. If the price increases at least enough to offset the reduction in total shares, then the company creates additional fake value for itself. Double the scam?

@rbreich At this point, the stock market is a parasite. Companies in it are beholden to shareholders, and must do anything & everything they can - legal or not - to increase profits. They can't squeeze any more money out of their processes, source materials or labor force. So instead they grab more of the total market (through company mergers) and jack up prices. It all needs to stop.
