It’s fascinating how you can use technology to create “second brain”, “personal cloud” or “external brain” that is available almost instantly almost all the time.

At the same time it’s so frustrating it is so hard to build a system that would leverage that technology and fit your workflow, your habits and your mind - fit you.

@Wojtyr I eventually tried out Emacs + orgmode for this. The files sync with Dropbox for mobile access using orgzly. Emacs is not for everyone though, very keyboard focused... So it takes some effort to master.

It's very customisable though!

@Wojtyr my favourite tool so far for this is Obsidian. Very customisable with tags, links and back links, and then the myriad of plugins.

I use Readwise Reader to save and highlight articles, pdfs, etc, and sync those to Obsidian. Amazing Marvin to manage projects and tasks.

One day I'll write a post or series on productivity for architects and developers, but I'm sure it will apply to many others. #oneday

@tekiegirl I will try Obsidian, thanks!

Proffesionally I use OneNote Outlook and Microsoft ToDo as it is native environment in most organizations I work with.

Privately I stick with AppleNotes (storing data) Things 3 (todo app) and Reeder 5 (as feed management and read-later service)

I also like Nozbe a lot, but don’t use it now.

Recently I experiment with Muse - brilliant drawing canvas for iPad.
