I've felt that conservatism has snuck into some our heads and making us skeptical of social justice and the liberalism that protects our liberties and equity.

But, as I resist, trans people should be granted the right to align with their gender identity. I don't care if some see it as "unethical or immoral", they need this procedure and they will get the needed care.

@flexghost It's true that I can't really understand this from the inside, but puberty is hard to go through, even when it seems like a culmination of something expected...much less something that feels that wrong. (Is getting hormones like doing it twice? That seems like a lot.)

Rep. Zooey Zephyr's language seems to me like it was wholly appropriate and absolutely called for, under the circumstances.

Unfortunately, Republicans have severed their own synapses that might lead them to - in the interest of not being called out on their extremism - do the smart thing, like back away from extremist positions.

@flexghost Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't go the route of Tennessee Republicans and just expel Rep. Zephyr. That's how Republicans do things now: if they can't get their way, they just change the rules. If they don't like what they hear, they cut the mics or throw the elected reps out. Very Fascist-y.

@flexghost A lesson I learned here in the UK: when the extreme right have power, they will do whatever they think they can get away with.

They're not interested in making sense, being fair, or being rational. Only with doing whatever they think they can get away with.
