The Murdoch family's Fox "News" payoff to Dominion is a reminder of two things:

1) It's real money but the company's shareholders can easily afford it, given Fox's profitability.

2) The core reason for those profits is Fox "carriage agreements". What's that? If you subscribe to cable/satellite TV (or most online equivalents), you almost certainly send money to that evil company every month.

If this angers you, and it should, please cancel and tell the carrier why.

@dangillmor I wish just one provider offered a Fox-free option.

@dangillmor

Dominion signaled it doesn't care about its actual reputation in the eyes of TV viewers. (They'll take the pay-off.)

Their voting machine business should be history now.

@dangillmor who needs Cable these days anyway?

@dangillmor

I’m guessing that this settlement will be tax deductible as a business expense… they don’t give a crap about it

@dangillmor I can't cancel, because my apartment building requires me to pay for a media package.
@dangillmor this was a good perspective on it all. Agree?
@dangillmor Also, none of that money is going to the employees of Dominion who do not own stock. And they’ve been suffering death threats and stresses along with the rest of them.
@dangillmor pirating content from the Murdochs is a social duty.
@dangillmor
Done! I will never knowingly give money to ANY FOX support. That includes advertisers, cable companies or political collaborators!

@dangillmor Do you know a way to stream decent news ( cheese-based doesn't count ) without paying the fox fee?

General streaming ( or separate subscription ) needs to include msnbc, specifically full episodes of Rachel and Lawrence

@dangillmor Cable is beginning to crumble. Look at Regional Sports Networks. Fox's business model will eventually die out.
