Hitting Fox in the pocketbook doesn't work if they earn more from their lies thru increased cable demand fees than they pay out to the companies they've smeared.
The market isn't going to self-correct here. We need to find a way to actually stop the lies.
@georgetakei Big change starts with small wins. Fox going on the legal record to admit that they fabricated news at the request of a political party is both a good start and a small win.
I think the trick here is to find the balance between a free press and an accountable press. The government cannot hold the press accountable, but a private entity could.
Perhaps a celebrity could spearhead this and start organizing resources behind it.
