Some journalists appear to be really mixing up civil cases and criminal trials.

Dominion was seeking compensation for the harm caused to it by Fox. It won a settlement because it could prove that harm.

Dominion is not working on behalf of the public.

It doesn’t owe the public anything, and certainly not the cost (financial, resource time, reputational, and otherwise) of going through a trial.

It’s not their job or burden to “expose” Fox and save the Republic.

That’s on Americans.

Adding this -

I’m not saying it’s easy. But it gets us nowhere for people with large platforms to direct anger at Dominion. It makes people feel angry and powerless, and feeds an idea that it’ll all be fine after that next big thing that someone else does.

Instead, I suggest it would be more useful to direct attention to this ⬇️ and spread information on how to advance our joint goals of truth, voter engagement, and democracy, together. Organize. Dominion, or another company, is not a saviour.

@fsinn

I think what was found during the discovery part of this was damaging to Fox. Not enough, of course, but bad publicity
