Maybe I am the weird one here...

I don't know if I need a #Deutschlandticket *every* month. Some months I will, some I won't

And *even though I could buy my Deutschlandticket from anywhere*, pretty much no Verkehrsverbund makes cancelling or pausing the ticket easy

Only MOPLA seems to have thought of this... https://www.mopla.solutions/de/tickets/deutschlandticket

Hol dir das einzige 63 € Abo mit Last-Minute-Pausetaste!

@jon Who knows, maybe the Deutschlandticket will finally bring some much needed competition to the Verkehrsverbünde’s ticketing apps? If they can’t compete on price, maybe they’ll compete on passenger-friendliness?

As someone who doesn’t live in Germany but visits every few months, this definitely comes closest to what I want. Now if only it wasn’t bound to calendar months…

@pb Eh come on. This is Germany. You'd not want anything to be too customer friendly!
@jon I won’t lie, a tiny part of me was enjoying itself as the HVV app asked me for a shipping address, phone number, password, mother’s maiden name and shoe size before I could buy a Kurzstrecke ticket. (After three trains had passed me by, I gave up and found a ticket machine that accepted my €20 bill *and* gave me change – in coins.)
@jon I still want a way of telling DB I don't want a Bahncard subscription without having to write to someone every time I don't want an automatic renewal and waiting several weeks for them to cancel it
@jon i'll need the Deutschlandticket all year round instead of paying for extention tikets for adding zone C to Berlin'S AB zones. For commuting two or three days a week
@jon thanks for finding this, I don't need it every month and getting it as an Abo is a pain!
I just used the mopla app, and there's definitely some bugs in there as well. I had to enter my payment information several times before it saved it and the website only opens on my phone, not my PC. I hope the cancelation/pausing is as easy as they advertise and the app becomes a bit more user friendly (I saw several overlapping buttons)
@13staedte Right. The interface isn't perfect by any means. But it's better than any other option I found!
