We have now reached the absurdist phase of #COVID denial where hospitals are literally asking patients to stay home when they are sick because they just can't be bothered to require masks anymore.

@luckytran

I'm confused - and exactly WHY are all the "very well" people supposed to come TO the hospital??? 🤔 🙄 🤔

Seriously, it's not just absurd - the irrationality really borders on (or crosses over into) a form of mass psychosis.

Looks like they got tired of enforcing masks worn by patients' visitors, but Health Providers are still mandated to wear them. This is sad.
COVID measures would wind down in other sectors eventually, but the hospital is the one place masks should be mandatory for everyone. Forget COVID, its for the protection of patients.
Masking changes at Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton - Hamilton Health Sciences

On April 19, Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton will no longer require patients and their families, and visitors to wear masks within hospital sites. However, everyone is encouraged to wear a mask while in waiting rooms, and in emergency departments and urgent care centres. Patients with a fever or respiratory symptoms will be required to wear a mask. Healthcare workers will continue to require a mask during patient interactions.

I agree. I wear a mask to all my medical appointments regardless of the policy. I also still mask up indoors at large gatherings such as grocery stores, Walmart etc.
@luckytran 😡 This is absurd indeed.
@luckytran I'm not sure why it is so hard for Americans to do something that the rest of the globe seemed to handle so well.
@packetloss @luckytran been two 10+ countries in the last few months, nobody is handling anything 😩

@packetloss @luckytran this hospital is in Canada.

I work at an American hospital and we are keeping our mask policy for the emergency room.

@packetloss @luckytran True; but to be fair, this is Canadia
@luckytran
They say who should do what now?
I hope aliens do not choose to monitor us any time soon, the intergalactic embarrassment would be too much
@luckytran feel like this was just really badly worded. Looking at their other post it seems they're suggesting family members and visitors stay home if they're feeling unwell.

@luckytran

In Panama they have strict covid precautions. Who’s third world?

@luckytran What a horror show. If someone gets covid because of this they should sue the hospital for negligence
@luckytran I think people should have always been required to wear masks when at a hospital, Covid or not.
@luckytran ...would it not be better to just be honest that budgets have run out of funds to get certain needs ???
@luckytran A doctor's office in my area has a sign on the door telling patients not to be mean to people who still choose to wear a mask.
@luckytran once a patient returns to baseline sickness, they can be discharged
@luckytran When I was in the ER Friday, I seriously questioned my life choices. What if I got infected with something new? When do I test?

@luckytran, the hospital isn't turning away those in need. They're asking that if you feel unwell and don't need to be hospitalized then don't come to hospital and spread your illness.

So much internet and still so many dumbasses.

@luckytran love how they hid the replies until they turned them off.

@luckytran Because "You don't have to mask, but stay away from a health care centre if you're feeling unwell" makes total sense.

Beggars belief.

@luckytran
I cannot find the words ... 🤔
