I am truly awed at just how amazingly bad Siri has become over the past few years, but in particular, after the release of iOS 16. just asked it three times, 'What day is July 10", and got 3 totally different answers. First, it said that July 10 was the 171st day of the year, or some such thing. Next, it read my calendar for that date. Finally, it told me that july 10 is a Monday, which is what I actually wanted to know. Few! I'm tired now ...
@alpuzz That’s awful. I hope that they are working on some sort of smarter AI powered replacement as the rumors seem to indicate.
@technocounselor I agree. Sometimes i'm not sure if it's getting dumber or if it's just having a harder time understanding lately for some reason. I know with iOS 16 if you invoke it you need to wait an extra second or so before talking or there's almost no hope... It's Sad how far behind Siri has fallen. Imagine what Apple could have done if they had made it Chat GPT like.
@alpuzz Yeah, and I feel like they could’ve done it before anybody, and better.
@alpuzz It is truly awful.
@remixman It is almost making me want to switch to Android.
@alpuzz i've considered switching phones because Siri has gotten so bad. Dictation hardly works for me anymore. I also used to use it to look up words I wasn't sure how to spell. But that doesn't really work anymore either. And never mind using it to open apps if I am in a hurry and I don't want to be bothered looking for it, because Siri does everything but open the app. I think for the prices they're charging for these phones, they really need to do better.
@julieroc40 @alpuzz Ugh! Don't even get me started on trying to open apps with it. Some days, I don't know whether I want to laugh or cry. The truly ridiculous thing is that you can literally say the same phrase in almost the exact same way several times, but yet you get different results each time.
