I originally posted this message last November, just a couple of weeks after signing up at Mastodon. At the time I think I had a few dozen followers, perhaps a hundred. Since I have significantly more than that now, I’d like to post this again for those who haven't seen it...

I care about a lot of issues, but I care about nothing more than what humans are doing to the climate and the environment.

Spurred on by greedy capitalists, we are trashing the ecosystem, poisoning the oceans, filling our bodies with plastic, killing entire species, slashing biodiversity to shreds, and ramping up the temperature, gleefully asking for more droughts, floods, hurricanes, famines, and war.

What I hope is that Mastodon will serve as an effective forum to educate people — those who are willing to be educated — about what is coming in our future and our children's future, and what we might do together to prepare for that.
