You don't need segregated cycle lanes. You just need the majority of people not to be complete and utter fuknuts when they get into a car.

Better ongoing driver training. Some marketing campaigns and hefty HEFTY fines for people who break the law are way cheaper than bike lanes.

All bike lanes do is accept that you can't get people to drive better so you have to put a physical barrier between them and everyone else.
