I'm going to jump in on the #writingwonders questions!

13. How physically fit is your MC?

Book 3: Tara is quite fit. She works on a 3 masted, square-rigged barque that flies through space so she *needs* to be pretty fit! She doesn't have good cardio though, running isn't a thing on ships and in cities floating in space.

@NatalieKelda I love this!! Also, YES it's annoying when people effortlessly have good cardio when they haven't ever done any in the book, and their lifestyle means that it's highly unlikely they're good at it (I used to work in a gym :P)
@CMRosens Thank you! Yes I used to run a lot and it always bothers me if characters can run far and fast without issue.
@NatalieKelda I lifted for a bit and my cardio has always been crap. I used to love dance classes but they were SO HARD and at peak fitness I was doing 13 classes a week, mix of cardio, strength and stretching, and I was peak me. As soon as I couldn't do that any more, my stamina dropped again. It's so hard to maintain a level that your body doesn't naturally want to stay in, if the groove is a bit lower than what you're pushing it to achieve.
@CMRosens yeah I danced for 10 years it's hard work for sure!
Right before COVID lockdowns i was doing 10 hours a week just of martial arts, than running, cycling and Viking reenactment fighting. I'm so weak and unfit atm in comparison despite still hiking etc 😅
@NatalieKelda I had an achilles tendon injury then had Covid and it has fucked my lungs, and now I have gained a ton of weight and doing physio for my right side which is the weakest and has neural issues, and trying to work out what my exercise limits are currently.
@CMRosens oof! I'm so sorry you're struggling after covid as well. I've only had it once, over a year ago, but I've have chronic fatigue since so idk if I ever get back where I was before. I hope it improves for you soon 💜
@NatalieKelda thanks the physio is helping loads but I just can't breathe when exerting myself even at a medium pace walk carrying a heavy bag, and haven't been able to since 2021 :((( so I am just trying to work with it.
@CMRosens Ugh I'm so sorry about that! I got my lungs back after 5-6 months but the fatigue has dug it's claws in. It sucks and nobody seems to take it serious how badly it affects many of us.
@NatalieKelda thinking it might be my heart or something :( going to try and get referred to the Long Covid specialist in a different health board.
