Crow's claim about buying it for a museum can't be squared with Thomas's mother still living in it after the purchase, the improvements made to the home, nor with Thomas breaking the law to keep it secret.

The transaction is the first known instance of money flowing from Crow to the Supreme Court justice. The sale netted the GOP megadonor two vacant lots and the house where Thomas’ mother was living.

He and Ginny had been paying the property taxes on this place until they sold it to him. Do they pay rent because they don't pay the taxes now. Seems odd they wouldn't think that someone taking over your bills isn't a directly reportable new income stream.
