@retr0id @steve 14.4kbps? Wow you are a young one. I recall 1200 baud and when 4800 came out that was like OMG - earth shattering. 😉

I started with a 300 baud manual modem from an ad in Byte magazine. I remember feeling so delighted when I finally got a 1200 that allowed a reasonable reading speed!
