The main apple service I get any value from is iCloud. The iMusic service is a pain as it doesn't show what is bought and what is downloaded and then it's harder to buy albums if you want to keep them. If you do buy them you often end up with two copies (!) which is weird. I have it free due to buying a home pod mini. I pay about £25 a year for the Itunes Match. That is worth it.
@serichards I started using Apple Music last year, and (for someone who still buys CDs) I’ve got on really well with it. The trouble is my iTunes Library (which has been transferred through my laptops since 2005) was really carefully curated with all the right artwork etc, and I didn’t realise how much the sync function would screw it up. It’ll never be the same as it was.
@alexgrantuk @serichards yeah knowing the reports of how much it cocked up libraries my iMac is signed in but the library untouched. I put a duplicate of the library on the laptop and sync’d that as I’m less bothered if that gets duplicates I’ve still the curated list on the main Mac. As say need to keep a list of downloaded but not bought the CD
@jonbradbury @alexgrantuk I've added albums from Apple Music I'm interested in as playlists this time. I'm hoping that's going to stop the duplicates if i eventually buy them. Add to library seems to be what causes it but shouldn't.
