I refute this, just like many, many others.
Time rnd time again, the BBC has been tested and found to have very little to no bias.
It's their job to do THAT. It's why they exist and why they must continue to exist.
@jmbw @jon what was the gary linekar thing about then? Sports presenter critiqued the government's awful language against refugees, so the gov pressured the bbc to drop him. Then the bbc bowed down and aired a show watched live by millions of people with no presenter or voice over.
Or what about this new david Attenborough show that was whitewashed, with the 6th episode now going to be silently dropped onto iPlayer and not aired (like the other 5 episodes) because it makes our country look bad

Gary said something and BBC management had no idea how to apply social media guidelines, they tried to apply news guidelines to a freelance sports presenter. At no point did the government pressure anyone to drop him, like you said. Bad management, yes but no Government pressure.
Attenborough thing, again bad management but no Government pressure.
@jontromans @jmbw @jon dozens of tory mps wrote to the bbc chief to complain about linekar. Then suddenly linekar is given an ultimatum by the bbc.

The chairman of the bbc is a tory stooge as well. Look at the lengths that boris Johnson went to when appointing him - including stuffing the "politically neutral" panel with tory allies and donors. They tried to get paul dacre in there first too, so it's just insulting to suggest it's not tory favourable at the top.
@Jamesboswell @jmbw @jon Highly doubt MPs/Ministers tweeting or calling made any difference. Its just someone saying something. They don't have that power over individuals. Its just really bad management.
I had similar during elections. MPs would ask me to ask about certain topics & I asked what I wanted. Was that political pressure?
Most journos will have been asked/given guidelines for an interview but most will ignore it unless its personal stuff. This has been happening forever.
@jontromans @jmbw @jon Too many coincidences to be 'bad' management. Especially when the 'bad' management always seems to side with the government. More like 'rigged' management.
