It is time for the #BBC and #NPR to set up shop on #Mastodon. Same applies to all other serious news institutions.

They should set up their own servers. They have the means to do so and it just makes sense.

#Twitter

@jon not just news, but any actual government service that citizens rely on for information.

It's just a matter of time before #musk starts deleting users and content that's inconvenient (and he kinda already did this).

The problem, unless there's a mass urging them to move to #mastodon, these organizations simply won't know to start their #twittermigration

If you've still got a #twitter account, it's probably time to sacrifice it and tell organizations you care about to #migrate.

@suquamish , agreed, although I would maybe not delete the Twitter account straight away, but rather move things over as quickly as possible.

@jon Oh, I wasn't suggesting deleting the #twitter account.

The problem was that the #musk was banning accounts that linked to/mentioned rival social media platforms (including mastodon).

If a large organization (say the #BBC) starts using Mastodon, he might just shutdown their twitter account out of spite.

If anyone uses their personal twitter account to mention migrating, the expectation should be to receive a permaban.

@suquamish @jon And I think it's jut a matter of time before someone starts an uprising to demand the #FBI and the #DOJ to investigate #ElonMusk in his blatant disregard of the first amendment of the #USConstitution.
@ShingoMouse @jon Since #twitter is a private company, I don't believe it is bound by the confines of the first amendment.
