如何定义快乐，学界也有三种理论：

1 选择自由理论：当人们的基本需求得到满足时，他们的幸福程度取决于生活中拥有多少自由选择的权利。
2 自我决定理论：在没有外部影响的情况下作出选择的能力也是过上幸福生活的重要因素。
3 积极心理学理论：我们应该更积极主动地提高我们的心理健康，而不是在事情出问题时试图修复它们。

Dr. Carol Diane Ryff 将快乐细分成六大类：
1 自我接纳
2 自主
3 环境掌控
4 个人成长
5 与他人的积极关系
6 人生目标
