@rebeccawatson The definition of Long COVID in that post is not the CDC or medical definition. “extreme fatigue that gets worse after any exertion” is what we used to call CFS.
It drives me bonkers that I have not seen numbers on what portion of “Long COVID” is CFS-like vs, say, post-ICU lung disease.
@rebeccawatson Dang! I listened to a lot of Anthony Carboni through podcasts and on YouTube 😟
I have mostly asthma and less energy since I caught COVID-19 last year, but nowhere this bad. 🫥
So many of the symptoms describe pre-diabetes. Metformin seems to be a promising treatment.
Covid is a vascular disease spread via respiration.
Which begs the question? Is there a unknown virus behind the type 2 diabetes epidemic that's gone under the radar? As did covid 19.
Perhaps the fatigue causes the obesity and then the diabetes?

@rebeccawatson "Horrifying" is exactly right.
...and in case anyone wants more anecdata, @Harena's sister -- who at one time was running a retail store and acting as an elected party official -- caught long COVID near the beginning of the pandemic, and ultimately had to close her store even as it was just starting to turn a profit.
She's one of the lucky ones, too -- she has enough energy to "live her life" in the morning. She just has to be very careful not to overexert during that time, and sleep the rest of the day -- and her mental function is not, according to her, anything like what it was. The brainfog never lets up.
