Twitter will absolutely 100% continue to follow this pattern of arbitrary, emotional, and societally impactful content suppression as long as you give them the power to get away with it, even for 24 hours. I don’t know why people have any illusion it’s otherwise.

It’s why I left. It’s why I refuse to give them that power over me, even for a minute.

You sometimes feel if they’re doing all this just to later on come up with a service of their own (or their friends) and sell it to us - Mastodon hosting, customization, security, plugins etc etc. Smart, eh?

Notes:

  • Coming from someone running his own instance.
  • Never liked Twitter - had an account but was never a regular
  • Loves the Fediverse
