Truly coming to terms with having undiagnosed ADHD is a trip.

Learning to truly enjoy the other side is pretty excellent though 💙

This message brought to you as I do all my chores at 3 AM and dance around my apartment with headphones on 🎧
@matthewcassinelli What’s playing?
@infonate Postal Service, which is what inspired the message because probably every 90s kid who went undiagnosed loved this band because of the BPM
@matthewcassinelli That’s one of those bands I’ve definitely heard of, can’t name a song, but they probably have songs I like that I don’t know is theirs. Any recommendations?
@matthewcassinelli welcome to executive dysfunction. You will not enjoy your wait which headphones and what are you listening to?

@Verso I’ve already been here for a while 🥴

AirPods Max and Give Up

@matthewcassinelli @Verso People who can wear AirPods Max and move around, or do anything without keeping their heads perfectly still and upright befuddle me. How do your headphones not slide off your heads?!
@matthewcassinelli @Verso OTOH, when I wear them to work at my desk, they do wonders for my posture!
@marinaepelman @matthewcassinelli @Verso My guess is honey. It’s sticky and a natural exfoliant. 🥸

@marinaepelman @Verso I realized that I definitely wear most headphones slightly forward and tilting them back a bit to really be on the top of my head helps.

I also switch to AirPods Pro a lot of the time moving around, I got these because I had a neighbor doing construction for a year... which is great for ADHD

@matthewcassinelli @Verso Oh, AirPods Pro (1st gen) or AirPods (3rd gen) don’t stay in my ears at all. Any time I wear them to listen to something while I eat lunch at work, I end up fishing at least one of them out of my soup. I guess it’s the forward head tilt combined with chewing… and don’t get me started on stopping to tie my shoelaces while out for a walk!

The original AirPods is the only thing that works, which is why I’m praying they never stop selling them…

@marinaepelman @matthewcassinelli it took me awhile but I finally found ear tips that keep them in my ears. I love my Pros. I have a neighbor who has someone run a leafblower every Wednesday. Every. Wednesday. Good ANC helps a ton.
And here's a pro tip: there are YT videos of hours of ambient space ship noise. I will sometimes add this to ANC and whatever music I'm listening to. It doesn't conflict with the music, and only levels up the not hearing other stuff.
@Verso @matthewcassinelli I know! Now that it’s spring, I have neighbor kids playing in the shared yard all the time. Playing! Laughing! Yelling! What’s the deal with that? When I was their age, I would sit in my room and read and do homework all day. Get off my lawn, kids! (Oh, wait, it’s their lawn too…)
