I scratched my eye or it’s infected on the Thursday before a long weekend in Canada 😫. All vets are closed 😩 so we are in an emerg clinic but keep getting bumped as we are (thankfully) not super serious. ❤️ Hopefully we are able to be seen soon. 💜
Still waiting. Keep getting bumped 😢
Made it to the room!
My poor little eye. But I’ve got drops now and the vet says I’ll be as good as new in 5-7 days ❤️!
@Satori Poor little Skye 😢
@MartineBunny Awww thank you for the well wishes. 🥰 I’m keeping it closed because it is so ouchy and that helps! Can you believe they didn’t give me painkillers?? 😱 I’m still eating like a champ and getting so much extra love. Mum is monitoring me so I don’t rub it at all. She ordered a donut collar arriving later today but she doesn’t think I’ll like it 😂💜

@Satori Oh nos pal, not a donut!! 🍩 Why does our hoom parents like to put cakes round our necks?!! Silly hoom v-e-t, why they not give yoo pain killers Skye? I’m glad yoo are getting extra love from yoor BunMum and BunDad. Wishing yoo a speedy recovery dear friend 🐰❤️❤️❤️🐰

@MartineBunny 🤣 Now a NANNER, on the other paw..👀

No painkillers, emerg maybe didn’t have any for rabbits 😒. They were not an exotic ER - no one around- we felt ok seeing them in this case because eye pokes/infections are similar to all.

Mum said infection or eye poke so vet wanted to do a tear duct flush. “I’ve never done one before, I’ve heard rabbits get that, I’ll have to Google how to do it..” Mum steered her away from that nonsense. 🛑 The staining cornea check confirmed the culprit! 💜

@Satori @MartineBunny All the best for Skye.

Not to minimize your experience, just a funny one of ours. Bun needed painkillers; vet explained Metacam came in two flavours; dogs and cats liked one, other animals liked the other. So she said she would give us the meat-flavoured one.

Meat?!? Are you out of the non-dog-non-cat stuff? Will bun even take it?

Not meat. "Mead", as in honey 😂

@cazabon @MartineBunny Thank you so much! 😊❤️

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ah, I needed that laugh! That is fantastic!

I was at a business dinner meeting in Copenhagen with many Danish colleagues years ago and commented that the soup was very good/asked what kind it was. The answer: "leech soup". I weakly said "leech"? and must have blanched. There was a burst of conversation in Danish and then my host turned to me and said "LEEK! LEEK LEEK!"

@RainCityBunnies @Satori @MartineBunny

Literally laughed out loud 😆

@cazabon @Satori @MartineBunny
for you Canadians, I heard a report on the radio today about giant hogs stomping over the northern part of central Canada?

@RainCityBunnies @Satori @MartineBunny I haven't personally seen any, but I read accounts of the number of feral hogs throughout the prairies exploding.

Um, the numbers are exploding, not the hogs.

@cazabon @Satori @MartineBunny
"the numbers are exploding, not the hogs" - this made mom laugh out loud, remembering years ago when a very large dead whale washed up on an Oregon beach and for some reason the Oregon authorities thought the best way to remove it was to ... blow it up. Blubber. Everywhere.

@RainCityBunnies @Satori @MartineBunny

It's famous! Or infamous. For the 50th anniversary of it, a local TV station remastered their news footage from the scene.

@cazabon @RainCityBunnies @MartineBunny 🤣🤣🤣 Can confirm wild boars have become a problem- they’re apparently running through our river valley. Oddly enough they’ve offered a bounty for them in a desperate attempt to get a grip of the situation. When my grandpa grew up, they offered a bounty on gopher tails. The gophers still triumphed.
@Satori @cazabon @MartineBunny
are the wild boars aggressive? there are some kind of wild pigs, or boars, or maybe javalinas, in Texas that can be ... agressive

@RainCityBunnies @Satori @MartineBunny

I haven't personally seen any - don't spend a lot of time out of the city these days - but it is reported that they can be aggressive, and they're pests, causing damage. Breaking fences and stuff like that that can cost a farmer real money if cattle escape and are hit by vehicles, etc.

@cazabon Yeah, I’ve heard they can be quite aggressive, too. They call them “super pigs” here, although they don’t wear capes
@RainCityBunnies @cazabon @MartineBunny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh I am laughing so hard from this!
