#ChiefJusticeRoberts is probably old school enough and enough of an institutionalist to conceivably pressure #ClarenceThomas to resign. He was the last Republican appointee from the pre Tea Party era.
What have the right wing republicans done the last 10 years that would lead you to believe any admission of ethics violations let alone republican accountability for their’ descent into total fäscism?
#ChiefJusticeRoberts was trying to get people to leave Roe & Casey in place but lower the viability standard to 15 weeks. That's probably why Alito leaked the opinion overturning those & showing the 4 names who had agreed to do that with him.
Roberts isn't some progressive unicorn or anything, but he almost certainly is an institutionalist. He's definitely an old school Republican jurist. I'm sure he believes #SCOTUS is ideally an impartial arbiter of law. He might even be more or less ethical in his day to day.
