Ugh, #Reddit. I made a post in a #DisneyParks subreddit about what I learned while trying to get POV video footage on #TronLightcycleRun. The only response was essentially "does the world really need more POV ride footage?" ๐Ÿ™„

I don't make videos because the world needs them. I make videos because I enjoy making them and sharing my experience. It wouldn't be as fun if I didn't capture it myself.

It reminds me a lot of the people who always ask "but why" about #maker projects.

@mattrichardson the only think Iโ€™ll say about this is it is incredibly annoying when everyone has their phones up and on recording everything. Most of these people are unlikely to watch it again and there are more often than not a better version already on YouTube.

But - if you like it as a creative project - I say go for it!

@tage 100%. My advice related to doing it safely and courteously with a chest-mounted camera like a GoPro.

I could do a whole video about how to be courteous, safe, and respectful of people's privacy while filming in the parks. It's something I think about a lot.

@mattrichardson I would respectfully counter that the best part of being on the rideโ€ฆis being on the ride. Nothing can capture the experience like actually being there fully in the moment.

If Iโ€™m gonnaโ€™ shoot a video, itโ€™s going to be of ME or my loved ones having fun on the ride, because the having fun part is the stuff I really want to remember.

@RockyC of course! The first time I rode it, I just went on and enjoyed the experience. Then I took some time to think about what I wanted to say about the ride in my video. That helped me decide what I wanted to capture when I rode it again (and again x5 ๐Ÿ˜‚).
