i have been a bit down on my gay ipod lately, bc integrating the 'final'-ish mainboard with the faceplate has spawned a bunch of issues that weren't apparent with either part in isolation.

but then i incidentally ended up seeing a thread on the rockbox mailing list where a bunch of people are like "yeah damn an open, esp32 based dap would be freaking sick" and such posts bring me energy
