THERE ARE AUDIO TAPES "In a conversation captured in an audio recording in approximately September
2016 concerning Woman 1’s account, the Defendant [Trump] and Lawyer A [Cohen] discussed how to obtain the
rights to Woman 1’s account from AMI and how to reimburse AMI."

This complicates a potential Trump defense that he was just trying to protect his marriage.

Trump told Cohen "if they could delay the payment until after the
election, they could avoid paying altogether, because at that point it would not matter if the story
became public. "

"The Defendant thanked the AMI CEO for handling the stories of the Doorman and Woman 1, and
invited the AMI CEO to the Inauguration. In the summer of 2017, the Defendant invited the
AMI CEO to the White House for a dinner to thank him for his help during the campaign."
"In the months that followed, the Defendant and others engaged in a public
and private pressure campaign to ensure that Lawyer A did not cooperate with law enforcement
in the federal investigation"
"On the day of the FBI searches, Lawyer A called to speak with the Defendant to
let him know what had occurred. In a return call, the Defendant told Lawyer A to 'stay strong.'"
@juddlegum He thanked Pecker for handling the stories about his pecker.
@juddlegum The only thing Trumpier than buying silence with a bribe is attempting to evade even paying for the bribe at all.
@dkompare @juddlegum Oh, I'm surprised he didn't go the ultimately Trumpy level by having his charity pay Stormy with tax deductible contributions from supporters.
@femme_mal @juddlegum You're right; that's totally Trumpier!
@dkompare @juddlegum I suspect he might have gotten away with it if he had done just that, a single payment from the charity to her for services rendered to him as head of the charity. He might have gotten his hands slapped by having permission to run a charity in NYS yanked but it wouldn't be a felony.
