I suppose this is happening in other cities but here in Amsterdam, young tourists get into huge lines at very specific places. Here is the line for Fabel Frites, a place that serves fries.
They are ok. The point is no local would wait in this line.

@vacapinta it's like the cookie place by Spui that I decided to try during COVID times when there was no line. They were average at best. I have no idea why there is a line every day.
@8lettersuk Yes! Van Stapele also has a fakey shop and decor that makes it look like they've been around for a hundred years but was actually started just a few years ago by an entrepreneur.
@vacapinta I agree.. This is my neighbourhood. I live between the cookie joint and fries place.. TikTok hell and total tourist trap.. mediocre places at best.
@IngridKerr I live in fear that they will decide to send everyone to a place I like. It already happened, in a way. We used to get sourdough from Rise bakery near us but then they got popular because of some circular croissant or something, with lines out the door. So..now we have to go farther...
@vacapinta I know…it is nuts…
@vacapinta A proper Amsterdammer would skip the line and barge to the head of the cue demanding service before everyone else. And then complain about the quality of the food.
