Submitted a letter to the editor for our local newspaper about our bakery closing.
Hopefully it makes some folks think about our broken healthcare in Wyoming(and beyond)
@dreamerhyena Wow, the fucker actually said it "would make people lazy?" Christ. They usually use bullshit weasel words when they say that.
@DanteTheK9 Yep, his exact words. This is after our towns lead doctor told him he was watching patients die because they waited till the last moment to come in because they couldn't afford health insurance here.
@dreamerhyena Christ that is fucked. I'm so sorry.. hopefully this will eventually be seen by someone who has a heart.
@dreamerhyena Christ, I hope someone recorded that shit.
@dreamerhyena Sorry this is the way it went, and worse still the response from your representative. I too know the pain of having family wait till it was too late because of how utterly broken healthcare is.
@dreamerhyena I am so sorry you have to close your bakery down. I can only hope that someone will take this politician’s seat and will show compassion and empathy. This letter to the editor I can tell was written out with love for the local community, and I’m sorry that it even had to be written out in the first place

@dreamerhyena I'm sorry to hear this! It's hell out there for small businesses in general, and the lack of support is just stunning. I hope that wherever your path takes you next, you find happiness and success!

(I had planned to stop for the night in Thermopolis during an extended road trip this summer, and was looking forward to visiting. Ah well.)

@dreamerhyena I think you should run for the politician's seat
@dreamerhyena Man, that really sucks, it's sad to see how WY politics have shifted. Do you think you'll try moving the bakery elsewhere?
@Sev for now we are just job hunting for something else to do. Maybe some day but it's very expensive most places we would want to move if we left here. Especially to open a business
